India’s Youth Engagement Series
We are organizing a new series of youth events in India. There are many categories and each has its own unique reach, visibility, and engagement, but all of them have one common element: high engagement with the student community.
Check these out and send us a note at team@collegey.com to explore your participation in one or more of these events. These events are designed to create a cohort of high-quality students who would be a great fit for your institution’s international outreach.
Young India Challenge (YIC) is an initiative to drive the #DoWhatYouLove movement amongst student youth influencers and ambassadors in India. The core idea is to engage young people in a physical event over a weekend and connect them with inspiring organizations and individuals to empower them. It reaches out to 100,000+ Indian students and gets 1000s of applications from a target group of students from across the country. The events are scheduled in New Delhi and Mumbai.
Startup Weekend is an opportunity for people to learn, network, and start-up. It is a Techstars Program powered by Google for Entrepreneurs. In just 54 hours, participants experience the highs, lows, fun, and pressure that makeup life at a startup. As people learn how to create a real company, they meet the very best mentors, investors, co-founders, and sponsors who are ready to help them get started. The last Startup Weekend program was organized in association with the U.S. State Department in India. A total of 150 high-quality entrepreneurs and mentors attended the event at the American Center, in New Delhi.
Enlightened Minds Program (EMP) is an experiential growth program designed for an exclusive group (Top 1%) of young individuals who are passionate about doing what they love and making a real impact in the world. It is a result of 20+ years of the combined experience of partners and founders in the area of soft skills training, leadership development, and mentorship. EMP is a monthly program and a typical batch comprises 10-15 selected individuals.
#DoWhatYouLove (DWYL) in-person Hangouts are 60 to 90-minute sessions focused on skills development, entrepreneurial outlook development, self-branding, and discovering one’s passion. They are curated and delivered by our teams at school/college campuses with participation from several other colleges. Each workshop is attended by a minimum of 100 students. Till today over 100 hangouts have been conducted in the last couple of years across different cities in India.
International Youth Day (IYD) is an awareness day designated by the United Nations. The purpose of the day is to draw attention to a given set of challenges surrounding youth. International Youth Day is observed annually on 12 August. During IYD, concerts, workshops, cultural events, and meetings involving multiple stakeholders and youth organizations take place around the world. In 2016, our main theme is “Be the Change” and with diverse sub-themes like being a Global Indian‘, ‘Being a Job-Creator’, ‘Being a Change Agent’. To celebrate the IYD, we are organizing several experiential events across New Delhi, India. The objective is to engage large companies, startups, and NGOs with youth influencers to celebrate with performances, and talk about issues that matter.
Global Village is a cultural event for the young with around 1000 participants, mostly college and school students, to celebrate and create awareness about International Youth Day. The Global Village also brings people from over 20 countries for a cross-cultural exchange over performances and conversations. This is an informal event that celebrates the pursuits and aspirations of the youth. As an organizational participant, it is a wonderful opportunity to engage with the young population. You will have a dedicated stall to display your brand, distribute informational material, and most importantly participate in informal discussions, and conversations with the participants.
Higher Education Forum is a reunion of over 125 YIC fellows who have demonstrated immense drive, entrepreneurship, and achievement in their work and pursuits. The event will be hosted in New Delhi. There will be a series of panel discussions and talks where you will have an opportunity to add value, share your institution’s vision, and information about the programs.
Top Talent Program (TTP) initiative supports a growing startup by connecting them to required human resources. One of the biggest challenges most startups face is the lack of quality/quantity of good applicants for their full-time jobs and internship programs. Ironically, compared to other challenges, founders often don’t take significant actions to find a solution for this. This slows down the growth rate for the start-up and scaling up becomes difficult. The paradox is that young people and placement cells find it extremely difficult to find exciting career opportunities. The objective of TPP is to bridge this gap and connect more and more startups with high potential young people. A TPP partner will have the opportunity to launch and showcase all work opportunities throughout the year to the network with our partners like placement cells and youth organizations.
We can’t wait to share more specifics for your participation in our events! Email us at ask@gobranta.com, and we will arrange a callback.
